The movie is based on the original nonfiction novel “Satoshi no seishun” by Yoshio Osaki.
The movie depicts the life of genius shogi player Satoshi Murayama, who was proudly referred to as “Habu in the east, Murayama in the west” but passed away at 29 years young due to incurable ill.
Masahiro Higashide as Yoshiharu Habu, Lily Franky as Nobuo Mori – the teacher living together and supporting Murayama, Shota Sometani as Egawa – the younger fellow pupil, also star in the movie.
